French Girls Do It Better

A cocktail party was held last night in Paris to honour the opening of this year's "Les Révélations" -an annual exhibit presented by the Cesars -the French film academy. This year's Revelations featured the photographs of Jean Baptiste Mondino. But this post isn't about that. It's about why French women look great even when they aren't trying. Marion Cottilard showed up in some frock, and was effortlessly gorgeous.

Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, who played the mermaid in the last PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie (and who is technically a Spaniard), looked like she was going to class. Yet she was still photo ready.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of make up and she clearly did her own hair. If these women were North American celebrities, they would have had ten pounds of make-up, five tracks of extensions, a bandage dress and a pair of  Louboutin platform pumps. We need to be like the French. . . in this case.
